If the washing machine fills it is not frozen. We are hopefully moving to a house where the washing machine is currently in the kitchen. Unless your machine is in an un heated area chances are it s not frozen. If frozen pipes are a common occurrence in your area you should consider insulating your washing machine pipes.

I suppose i could place a heater in the garage with a thermostat set to just above freezing to help prevent freezing inside but that still leaves the supply pipe vulerable.

I think you need to think about ways to insulate and heat that area more permanently. Fortunately the washing machine resumed working with no harm done. The washer froze over the last few days during a cold spell. You don t need to worry about where to place your fridge freezer with our freezer guard technology.

Frankly installing a washing machine in a cold unheated garage was not a great idea. Also there is still water inside the washing machine itself that can freeze. Knowing how freezing can hurt your washer and knowing how to prevent this damage will help your appliance last a long time. Pay attention to winter weather forecasts and take precautions to protect the washing machine when frigid temperatures are expected.
